What is bounce rate in email marketing?

The percentage of emails not delivered.

Bounce rate is the percentage of emails that weren’t delivered to recipients’ inboxes. It’s calculated by dividing the number of bounced messages by the total number of emails sent, then multiplying by 100. Bounces fall into hard bounces (permanent failures like an invalid address) and soft bounces (temporary issues such as a full mailbox). Keeping bounce rate low is important for good deliverability and sender reputation, and it’s different from open rate (how many emails were opened), click rate (how many links were clicked), or unsubscribe rate (how many recipients unsubscribed).
